The DSS have arrested a journalist, Ahmed Salkida, who was declared wanted by the Nigerian Army in August. Ahmed Salkida was arrested on Monday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport after his flight landed in the country.
Ahmed Salkida had been declared wanted along with two other people – Aisha Waliki and Ahmed Bolori – in connection with alleged links to Boko Haram sect that has turned the north eastern part of Nigeria to a war zone.
The journalist, who faulted the army’s decision to declare him wanted, had in a statement shortly after he was declared wanted explained that he would return to the country to respond to enquiries by the army.
Ahmed Salkida had, however, denied being a member of the sect.
