The Faithcare foundation in partnership with the Mediatrix Development Foundation has commenced a five day long medical outreach in Obudu local government area of northern Cross River state with the mother of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Mrs. Theresa Akpagu commending the organizers of the initiative.
The outreach is an initiative of the wife of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River, Dr. Linda Ayade.
And, Mrs. Akpagu commended her for the show of concern towards her people and prayed God to continue bless her abundantly, she further revealed that she will come back on Wednesday to check her eyes as she experienced severe pains on her eyes.
The hospital is currently flooded with so many patients who are seeking relieve from different ailments, some of whom spoke to CrossRiverWatch commending the idea.
Mr. Ugben Gregory, father of one of the beneficiary, Lucy Ayabie said that, he could not afford the money for her daughter’s surgery.
“Where will I have gotten the money to operate my daughter if not this opportunity? I am very happy to benefit from this gesture, I want to pray a very special prayer for her, may God grant her heart desires and give her the resources to do more so that others too may benefit from her act of charity and kindness,” said Mr. Ayabie.
Many children suffering from apendititis received free treatment at the General Hospital in Obudu, and Dr. Monday Yilkudi the leader of Faithcare Foundation while speaking to Dr. Oranefo Okolo, the Managing Director of General Hospital Obudu maintained that they are ready to provide healthcare to the community.
And, Dr. Oranefo Okolo said that the facility is a modern community hospital with competent staff available to serve the community. But this will not happen if Obudu people do not use the hospital.
A total of 60 personnel are on ground to provide the needed services with Faithcare Foundation having 30, General Hospital supporting staff 20 and 10 from the Mediatrix Development Foundation making a total of 60 persons.
